car was sitting, and now clutch fells full of playdo!
If playdoh fell in your clutch, you should get it out.
If your clutch feels soft, try bleeding it.
I HIGHLY doubt you need a new transmission.

try drainging your trans fluid, and toppin it off with something new. Ya might even wanna try some of GM's synchromesh, it seems to work well with alot people who've tried it.
I dont know what else it could be really?

Guys try to think about this logically.
The car has sat for a long time. It worked before it sat I assume.
I would check for rust and corrosion on the clutch cable and lever.
Also check for mice making a nest or something in the engine compartment.
You need to do a thorough inspection of the routing of the cable.
If that all looks good then youll probably have to pull the clutch and see what it looks like in there.
Also you might look at the clutch pedal there might be something hanging it up.
