replaced axles, still noisy. why!?!?
I recently had my axles replaced [maybe two months ago or so] and I am still having the noise. it doesn't sound like a metallic clicking, more like slapping two blocks of wood together. anyone with me? the boots are fine, and the car is lowered. how much? I don't know. at least 1.5", perhaps more, but not slammed.
this sound is trippin me out and is mostly noticeable when turning [of course].
any thoughts would be appreciated.
and yes, I searched. but all I get is "clicking means bad CV joints/axles" ... these axles were just replaced.

well it looks like I should take a look at my lower balljoints. going to bleed my brakes this week, so might as well inspect them at the same time.
now, my Haynes isn't very specific about replacing balljoints. is it really necessary to remove the knuckle and hub?

Just the knuckle. No need to remove the hub. Get some snap ring pliers and a bfh (big fuxxin hammer). Remove the snap ring and hub ring. Place the knuckle in a vise and bang it out. Use a ball joint press to install replacement. Install snap and hub rings. Be sure to use new cotter pins and axle nuts. Get an alignment.

it's been a long time since I've experienced a destroyed wheel bearing, but isn't that more of a nasty continuous grinding noise? and the rotors spin nicely [spun them around after replacing pads the other day...no resistance].
good news: Hopefully I should soon have a connection at a local Acura dealer. there's nothing like working on a car when it's in the air. jack stands can kiss my @$$.
