'94 Oil Pan question
I have a 1994 LX and have a question about the oil pan. Last summer, i had some rust down there and the pan would be hanging down. It was only really noticeable when driving on stones. I could still rehook it back up, but it wouldn't last long; I later got it fixed. The other night I was pulling into a parking space in an unfamiliar light without lights and I guessed I pulled up too far and those mini-"curbs" scraped a little of the underside under my front bumper.
When I got home, I discovered the pan was hanging down again and upon further inspection, the one part that wraps around a screw (sorry for the non-technical speak, not too technical about cars) had a crack in it [if looking from front bumper], so it won't stay hooked up. Right now I have duct tape holding it until next Wednesday.
Do I need this replaced, or can the dealer or someplace deal patch this up? Thanks

I'm trying to picture what you're talking about. I seriously doubt your oil pan is hanging down because if it was, you'd dump all of the oil out of the engine and not only would that make a huge mess, your car would be undriveable.
Could you be talking about the plastic splash shield that goes under the engine?
If so, they're pretty cheap at the dealership (around $40), and you should be able to replace it yourself.

Yeah, that sounds right. Its a piece of flimsy molded plastic, basically. I was trying to find the right term for it. Thanks.
