you should really search but:

B16 = better performance but harder install (plus mount and linkage cost on top of the higher price tag)
ZC = cheaper and easier (same mounts, same linkage, cheaper price)

It's up to your preference... B16 is much faster and has VTEC along with the ability to expand to a 1.8 or 2.0 liter block. ZC is slower but in comparison to a stock Si engine faster. Just as the #'s go:

D16A6 (US Si) - 103-108hp
ZC (JDM Si / EDM 1.6i-16) - 128-132hp
B16A1 (JDM SiR / EDM 1.6i-VT) - 158-175hp**

**-Depending on engine source, wether from a Civic/CRX SiR or an Integra XSi. Integra is more powerful.

And to be honest since you had to ask this question I'm assuming you've never taken a dive into working on your engine... so a ZC will be challenege enough to do as your first swap.

First off...you really shoulda searched. Theres a MILLION topics on this subject.

That being said...im gonna answer your question...not because i like you...but im just plain bored outta my mind so i say what the hell.

Performance-as much as i hate to say it(and i really do) the wee16 will be the best choice.

Ease-ZC without a doubt

Price-ZC...but not by that much nowadays

What would i do you might ask? Well id say **** both of them and get a b20

Hmm, go ZC for the sake of D series! Performance = b16 (I would save up the few extra bucks and get a b18 'cause of the torque). The b series will cost probably a good +1000 bucks more because of the mounts, linkage and extra necessities. While the ZC is a drop in.

both good both something i'd like but I went b16.

Its hard to get things like timing belt etc for a DOHC ZC while its a breeze for a b16.

Kinda wish i got a LS with y1 but thats nother rant lol

if you have the money, go b16. if you don't, go zc.

*btw, no stock b16a comes with 175hp. siR/XSi = 160hp.
