Ignition/electrical problem
Need help.
This only occurs occasionally. While driving the car/ignition seems to cut out, but the radio, fan and lights ect. are still working. So whwn you rurn the ignition key off an on yoy can start the car again. It must be elctrical, and not the ditrubutor or coil, as the central locking (alarm/immobiliser) is connected, that when you strat the car the doors lock and when you switch it off it unlocks. So when the car dies, the doors unlock and lock again, just as if you wer turning the ignition on and off.
Could it be that the alarm/immobiliser is at fault, or is it the ignition switch.
Any help would be appreciated.

get a test light and check the ignition switch. on the back of it you will see solderd pionts and on one of them there should only be a feed when you turn the ignition on and another which will come on when you crank the engine.
before cranking the engine remove the small connector on the starter motor so it will not turn the engine while you do this.
