Default HID

I just want to buy a HID to my 04 SIR, I don't know which one you guys used currently, and which factory is good? and how much it will cost mostly? I heard the cheapest HID is made in Taiwan, is that good?

A reputable place to get HID kits from is http://www.xenondepot.com/. They sell a Philips HID retrofit kit and they also make their own HID kit for most cars. The Philips HID kit is the one to get. They're more expensive (they're $550 for 4300K - $650 for 6000K) but they're high quality and will last you a long time. (Most OEM HID's use Philips bulbs/ballast)

And stay away from the cheaper taiwan no-name stuff. The quality isn't there and you might have to keep replacing ballasts and/or bulbs. Also don't go above 6000K cause the higher you go, the less light you'll actually get and you'll also have the ricer "blue" lights. 4300K is the brightest and is used by OEM's.

Thanks MAN
that's very helpful for me....

4300k is brightest, but why cheaper than 6000k?

Is the auto body place located in So. Cal? I might be interested in getting the same thing. Also did you retrofit a projector into your stock headlights? Or just modify the clips to hold the new HID's?

How's the glare on the stock headlight housing? I've always wanted to get HID's but i'm worried about killing someone with the glare.

I'm also tempted to do a projector retrofit, but i'm worried about damaging the headlight. (I'm good with basic bolt on's, but doing a retrofit requires a tad bit more skill )

Just to make sure I'm reading this right, he placed OEM HID projector housings (TL, TSX, etc.) into stock RSX headlight housings and had glare? I'd be surprised. I thought that was the cleanest application possible.

yea i find that really wrong unless he didn't install everything right. oem HID projectors don't have glare. they're not allowed to have glare since they're approved by DOT.
