Default Driveshaft question

Ok, I am way new to CRX ownership so bear with me if I am not too down with the venacular. I noticed today as I was swapping front wheels that the passenger side driveshaft is sheered off before the spindle nut. I can put my finger into the splined center of the hub about 1/2". Question I have is, if the bearings check out fine, can the driveshaft spindle (from the outboard joint on) be replaced or must the entire driveshaft be replaced.

Also, figure it'd be good to know, is this a common wear/shear item for a track only CRX.

TIA

Its a good idea to just replace the whole thing. Actually, i've never seen that happen to an axle before.

If the axle nut wasn't crimped, it's possible that the axle has begun "walking" out of the hub, loosening the nut.

It happened alot on ym friend's 4G-63 swapped Dodge Colt.

Make sure the axle is snug against the back side of the spindle, and try to tighten the axle nut to pull it back through. This is probably what is going on...

Hope this Helps.
