Kudos to those restoring ITRs...
It seems to me that I've seen a lot of people posting lately about restoring ITRs from the ground up. I can't think of any specific names off the top of my head, but within the last year it's really come on strong.
For the most part, it looks like the restorers are dedicated to preserving the character of the car, and getting their hands on original parts.
I have disagreed loudly in the past with the people who've said "An ITR is just an Integra," and now I feel somewhat vindicated. I have always said the car is a future classic, and I don't see anyone restoring any other Honda in such painstaking detail.
Usually, classic cars don't start getting restored until long after production ceases. The fact that people are doing ITR restorations so soon says something for the future collectability of these cars.
Just rambling thoughts. Im bored.

I agree, it's just sad that it becomes necessary to do so, so early. It seems odd to be thinking of the phrase "Don't crush 'em, restore 'em," for cars made first in 1997.

I want another R so whenever I save up the $, most likely after I get out of school. I will be building a R. I loved mine and plan to have one again
Having one is different than what these people are doing.
I'm talking about people who are buying damaged or salvaged ITRs, and spending a lot of time and effort to simply make it stock again.
I usd to think of it as a fruitless exercise, until I realized how significant it truly is.

why anyone would restore a 3-8 year old car is beyond me.....
now rebuilding a totalled or stripped one yah....but not restoring for the purpose of resale as a lowmilage rebuild like they do with old hot rods

Agreed, and we're not into the hot rod/collectible phase yet.
But, people are rebuilding them to stock ITR specs, when they could probably get away with building a piecemeal project car which would be faster and cheaper.
Although, Chad...own one, and you'll understand.
