Default I need help on custom exhaust ASAP!!!

I ditched my old Comptech exhaust beacuse I want a 2.5" system since I will be upgrading to wilder cams soon, hopefully after the tax refund in 2-3 months. I am tired of all these so called "performance" exhaust with a bunch of bottle necks and flanges made for stock cats. I have a JDM ITR 4-1 header and Carsound 94006 provided by Dave. I like SMS exhaust, but can not spend that much cash so I will have a custom exhaust made. I am thinking 2.5" pipe all the way. I need a muffler now. What do you guys recommned???? I want something nice, looks like stock and sounds good. Of course, it has to be 2.5". What kind of muffler does Dave (SMS) use? I was also thinking using an ITR muffler but it is only 2.25". I need help deciding. Please, let me know your suggestions. thanks

I have stock exhaust now!!!

I'm welding up a 2.5" system for my car.. but with no mufflers or resonators and a side exit.. hehe not quite what you're looking for Do you care if it's SS or alum steel? Most muffler shops will do a custom system, but you might have to provide the mandrel bent pieces for them.

Then most any muffler shop should be able to weld that up for you, just take your b-pipe and axle back to them and tell them you want it in 2.5" with whichever muffler you get.

2.5 is too large for your set up I think 60 mm is better.

like I said, I will be getting bigger cmas soon. 2.5" is not too big anyways, not even now. The stock ITR used on the Great Header test made power after installing a 2.5" exhaust.

Dyno tuned 198 at the flywheel!
I must assume that you pulled the motor out of the car then dyno tuned it on a engine dyno? What's your WHEEL hp/tq, who gives a rats *** about crank hp?

Hmmmm MUFFLERS?

The 5ziggen Fireball is nice and clean looking?

Apexi N1 muffler

SKUNK2! just came out with a muffler that looks nice as well

all those mufflers are not really big on the outlet and sound pretty decent. they look good and are not ricey like the apexi dunk!

BTW, I think SMSP uses a magnaflow or flowmaster? not sure though.. I have a h00ker for my conquest, very straight through, 3" in/3" out, could get it in 2.5' as well. You could go with no tip at all (well no shiny tip, you'd still have the outlet from the muffler) or add one to a aftermarket muffler. Check out summitracing for some mufflers.

I needed a custom 2.5" exhaust to pass DB Tech at Lime Rock Park. I purchased a Dynomax Turbo Muffler at Advance Autoparts ($30) and took the car to Midas. They welded up a pretty decent exhaust system ... all 2.5" piping. I think the total was ~$150.
