Im contemplating whether I should pull the motor out to do the work I mentioned in the title. I dont have access to a lift and I want to do the work myself, tools accessible to me are the standard jack and jack stands. Should I pull it out?
quick Q. i have a GSR waterpump and possibly a GSR timing belt.
could i use that on an ITR if i needed to change the H20pump and belt? not so much the belt though, i could just get one from the dealer for an R.
but i have an extra GSR pump

Take out the driver's side engine mount and work on the timing belt/water pump (supporting the bottom with the jack).
Then reinstall the driver's side mount and drop your tranny. DO NOT remove the engine - way too much hassle.

Pull the fricken motor.
(NOTE: I have removed the motor from my car 5 times and reinstalled it 6 times in the last 18 months by myself. It gets easier everytime
)

I have removed the trans both ways (motor in the car and puled the motor) Fortunatly the honda tranny is light enough to unbolt, set-on you chest and "shimmy"out from under the car.
Pick your poison,
Mattj
