Default Guages

Ok I am about to get a nice little guage cluster (4 guages) I was just wondering if anyone could give me some information on the install of these? (they are autometer)

A/F Ratio Guage
Oil Pressure (mechanical)
Vacuum
Volt Meter

Twanks

Is their any advantage in acuracy to getting electrical versus mechanic guages from autometer, or vise-versa?

PB foot, question reguarding your cams:
are you running stock ECU? How do you like the results of them? I have a similar set up and i was debating the 602's because i had read that the 604's were not that streetable without alot of dyno work. Your comments are welcome or just hit me an IM.

TIA

electrical is less messy. machanical ones have a reputation of bursting.

i heard you don't get an accurate reading of A/F unless you replace the O2 sensor with a wideband. SO basically it is a waste of money, unless you get the good ones, by Blitz or others. Maybe i am wrong, but i have read about it in Import Tuner or one of those mags. Good luck

For your a/f you have a 12v, ground, and illumination (depending on model) and then your 4th (other) wire goes to your O2 sensor wire which is easiest to tap at your ECU. I don't know what color it is off the top of my head, but you should be able to find out by looking in your helms manual.... i'm sure 1:10 of the people on here could tell you though. Someone will reply to this post with the correct wire sooner or later.

As for my cams, I have not installed them yet. I am going to put them in as soon as I can get the head ported and polished and my dual valve springs and titanium retainers come in. I can't wait though! I'll post as soon as I get them in. Good luck
