ok i got a 97 civic ex i blew my motor yesterday and have a freind who has a motor out of a 98 dx non vtec my motor was a vtec motor i am wondering what i have to do to make it work i don't have money to do s b series swap or i would my freind is giving me this motor at no charge so i just need to know what i need to do. does the tranny have to come out to or can i just remove the motor ?? thanks for the help

 

you should be able to keep ur current tranny. D-series should be interchangeable.

 

you just put it right in and not wire the the car for vtec the trannys will work. what did you blow on the motor because if the head is salvageable you it for a mini me set-up.
