need help with a 88 civic hatch

Default need help with a 88 civic hatch

i just got a 88 civic hatch want it to be sleeper completely stock looking. i have a 1.5L motor auto trans soon to swap for manual i was wonder if i should work on this motor or should i get another motor like a h22 or something. where should i start? really lost on this project. any advice would be appreciated

turbo an h22, throw away that 1.5l, actually get a nsx engine and put it in the back seat of your hatch, it willl be fast as hell, no one will beat you dood, it will be jdm

Get a b18c. Plan on upgrading your brakes after the swap. Get a si cluster so you can have a tach. The suspension bushings are fuxxed up. Replace them. I'd start with brakes/suspension. Your goal is....?

my goal is to have a pretty fast daily driver run it on the track every once in a while and have decent numbers.thanks for the help eda6

well first off how much is your budget for this car.. how much you want to spend basically... you cant start a project and be short on money... then second decide on whether you want to be a N/A or BOOST... once you decided on those two main things decide your setup...HTH

well im just getting my license so once i get that ill be moving to a better job. i say about 5g plus motor and tranny. i was thinkin of a h22 supercharged. seein how good that'll do for me. also thinkin about doing a weight reduction.

I dont think a hatch with a H22 will fit a sc. Go with b16 and turbo or just H22. The H22 is a monster in these little cars, no need for more

Try and put ls vtec i think it cheaper and if you modifie it enough it get you the same torque and horepower as a h22.
