Default Civic Hatch Rebuild HELP NEEDED

IM pretty new to this forum i have a membership here apparantly but i dont remember registering but i guess i did lol

Im looking to buy a 1996 Honda Civic Dx Hatchback but I need to be schooled with what i should do and recommendations

The car is a 5 speed manual with all stock motor but it has a kit and rims etc but i want to do an engine swap and i have been doing my research and i notice that the most common engine swap is the GS-R engine from the Integra but i was wondering if i could swap the stock motor with the H22 engine in the last generation of the Prelude and if i put either the Gs-R or the Preludes H22 in the Civic would I have to Get a new tranny or its okay stock?

How much would Buying a motor run me and getting it installed... i have the money saved already but im curious

IM going to do a lot of work in a short time but my first is motor swapping and then im going to put on bigger brakes good tires better suspension the whole 9

I feel stupid asking these questions because im no newbie to forums and cars but with this subject i feel as i am a noob

Ill be checking this post constantly so if theres any questions you have for me that i forgot to mention im sure ill b checking this post at least 50 times by the time i go to sleep tonight so i thank you for any input and help you have given me

If you're talking about paying for someone else to do the work, the gsr will probably be overall simpler. If you're thinking you're going to do any of the work yourself, I'd suggest building yourself a turbo kit for the stock motor, learning, and blowing it up. At that point in time you will know more about the mechanical choices before you go getting raped by a shop.

Look under the 92-00 civic section under "What swaps are available for my civic?" or use the search function.
