ok i recently spunn a bearing, and i had a z6 block layin around, i want to swap out my obd2 to an obd1 anyways, i have a 97, so we put the y8 head/intake mani on the z6 block, i no theres no knock sensor or <timing sensor?> on the z6. is there any thing ekse i need to do? will this work? any horse power increase? (i was told the z has better vtec flow..and y8 intake has better air flow?) i just need to get my car freaking running, anyhelp will do, id tryed doing a search, but nothing came up, im a noobie to this site.

 

The "VTEC Flow" is in the head.

You won't notice any gains. You can tap one of the holes for the alternator bracket to mount the knock sensor as shown here:

have you dont this swao before, would the knock sensor not matter with a obd1?

I leave my knock plug unpluged.
