what? if you get a jumper to obd I you can use p28 which does not require a KS. IF you stick with obd II ecu you can just relocate the KS anywhere on the block (not the head), or firewall but that's little bit too extreme.

i heard that you can just use the pre drilled holes in the back of the block for the KS

That's funny. On last month's issue of Honda Tuning, they replaced the timing belt on a D16Y7 motor and showed a picture that it had a knock sensor. Were they mistaken?

i did the exact same thing....except i think my y7 had a knock sensor because i KNOW i hooked it up when installing the motor. I might have taken the sensor out of the back of the y8 block and just screwed it into a place on the y7 block....did i do that for nothing....**** ima check now. someone let me know...ill be back

I just got out of the garage because this **** is blowing my mind. Got the Haynes Repair manual (civic 1996-2000) (integra 94-00) (and CR-V 97-00)
It says that knock sensors are used on civics with a D16y5, y8, and the civic with the B16a2 .

And integras with a B18C1 and B18C5

So that means my D16y7 dosnt have one. So Im guessing my ignorant *** just screwed the old KS from the y8 block and put it on the same spot on the y7 ...but i guess it just leades to nowhere.....

Questions...should I take my Intake mani off and take the KS off?
should i leave it...its not doing anything to harm it? could it some how be working? hahaha
should my ECU be throwing a KS code, because it hasnt ....just my secondary o2 sensor heater or something (65)

if i do have to take it out of the block..do i have to bypass the KS ????

Help me out buddy...thanks.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts doesn't list a knock sensor on a y7, but they do on a y8, maybe the haynes guide was actually right for once.
