i have a z6 and want to turbo it, will a stock clutch hold up on a that one edelbrock turbo?

 

Probably not. It really depends on how you drive but when you push a lot more turbo, and you will with a turbo, the clutch usually can't hold that torque very well.

 

i have a ClutchMasters Stage 3 on my del sol right now. It will hold up to the power that the kit will put down and then some. The pedal is almost lighter than stock and the engaugement isn't that bad, but it will grab quickly if you don't pay attention. It's a great clutch if you plan on keeping the car a daily driver

 

well i want a clutch that will feel almost to stock but will hold. it will be a dd and an occasional track run

 

best would be twin disk if you have the money

 

My stock clutch lasted for two weeks until I started launching hard on it and it quickly died. You'll definately need to upgrade your clutch. You should get a better idea about how much power you expect to make now and in the future, before you decide on a clutch. If youre looking for a clutch for daily driving, the Action 2KS or 1KS is a great clutch. Stock engagement properties and grabs hard.

 

my clutch master is just like my stock clutch except it grabs a little hard and can take more of a beating than my stock one did lol. I've heard some pretty good thing about action clutches too, it's personal preferance, and you deff. don't need a twin disk for that setup

 

My freind has the clutch masters stage 3 in his d-series turbo and it has treated him pretty well.

 

Is the clutch masters stage 3 a 6 puck?

 

nope CM stage 3 is a kevlar segmented disk.

NO! Why would you run a twin-disk in a sohc with the edelbrock kit. Get a stage 1 or 2 CM and call it a day

Agreed, but take the recommendations here as a grain of salt, Clutch Masters is this month's bandwagon if you would have asked a couple months ago it would have been Exedy. With the power you're going to be making a lot of those choices would be more clutch than you really need.

 

um i've had my clutchmasters since last november...

 

action 2md six puck unsprung for my d series . i hope it holds.
