Default ATS FD...

I started a thread a bit ago asking everyone's favorite mod to their RRR. I saw quite a few posts regarding the ATS FD. What exactly is it about the FD that everyone likes so much. Let me here your oopinions. Thanks

Incredible acceleration. Do a search. There should be lots of info on it in past threads.

I'd like to know how many of the ATS FD users drive their R's daily.

i would actually like to know this as well. i highly doubt that the ATS FD is unreliable, but i wonder what it's like to have a DD with this mod.

I know a lot of people with the ATS 4.9 FD that daily driver their cars. No problems there. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it

I'd be all over that.

<----who wonders why he hasn't got the FD yet.

It's a whole lot of fun
I drive about 40 miles a day with the ATS. I can see no drawbacks with driving it daily besides not being able to break the law going 80mph

Been daily driving the ATS since end of '02. I average 26-28mpg, with a mix of city/highway. Personally, I would rather drive an ATS car on the street than a stock FD...makes stoplight to stoplight traffic a little more entertaining

As far as why I like it so much...well lets just say that the whole character of the cars performance changed with the final drive. There was a considerable amount of acceleration increase per gear.

My friend said it the best when he first got a ride with the ATS installed: "Damn! Did you get an H22?"

There are a few neh-sayers on here that complain about RPM's during cruising...they're just a bunch of :insert female genitalia here:

I used to daily drive my ITR with the ATS FD. It's no longer my daily driver, but there were NO problems with it. It's nice starting in 2nd gear too.

But then you get bumped directly to Street Mod, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

When I daily drove it there were no major drawbacks.
Around town and especially with a LWFW driving was more pleasurable.

Highway driving is good as well but mostly depends on the speeds you'll cruise at. It's only 400 odd rpm higher in every gear.

It only gets annoying on longer road trips at higher speeds, like constant 90 mph to the Expo. Ooops did I say that.

It's actually many times nicer on the highway when in 5th since you no longer need to downshift to pass.
