Max power on stock engine
What would be the max amount of power, safely, the stock internals could take on my d16z6? 200hp? 250? The engine has about 150,000 miles on it, but most of those were highway. This power would be coming from a stage 2 drag gen3 turbo kit btw.
yea i think 200 is the max for that engine on stock internals... you might be able to squeeze a little more with really good tuning and management...but i wouldnt risk it! i also just notice the 150,000 miles... your definetly going to want to beef up the internals before you boost it... i can see things going wrong pretty quickly without it!

yes your not going to get a lot more than 200 very safely on stock internals on a Z6...either way ...like what was already said...TUNING IS KEY to reliable power!!

yes you could hit 200whp on your motor but i dont know if that turbo kit is sufficient to do it and you arent going to do it running an FMU for management. i dont know what size turbo that kit comes with but i am assuming the WG is set at somewhere around 6-8psi so i dont think you are going to make 200 on that boost level. also your stock injectors are only good to around the 200whp level but i think there is a guy on the uberdata forum making 230 something with a T3-super60 and stock internals and injectors still. read up some more.
thx for the info guys. i don't plan on boosting this high to get 200whp, just wanted to know what my engines limits were stock. i will be just happy with 150-175whp for my first boosting experience.
