Default Sounds like rocks in my oil pan. My car is all jacked up. :( Boo Hoo

'94 Civic EX
D16z6 w/ JDM D15 head
Boosted (8psi but spikes to 11 constantly)

Not BB's in a tin can but ROCKS being flung around my oil pan. I just found out my timing is at like 25deg at idle too. Hope my motor isnt too F'D up...

I also have smoke coming out of my breather filter.

The car also seems to die while driving then it goes again. Like you cruise, then your head goes forward cause of a loss of power, then head goes back again as the power comes back.

UPDATE: Compression test results 190 190 190 80

I'd stop driving it ASAP if you still want something salvagable from the engine. Hell if you decide on swapping it out I'll take the head from you if the piston didn't hit it. Start looking for a new engine cause that thing ain't gonna last long if it's smoking out the breather filter and those are chunks of your rod that your hearing I'm 99% sure of. Hey you post on HMT don't you?

Yep, you've detonated something in there and you shouldn't drive it AT ALL.

Geting a compression tester this weekend. Was planning on a timing gun too but I guess I shouldnt fire up the motor to mess with that right now.
This sucks cause I dont even know where to start. My Dads a mechanic but just recently sold his shop so i'm at this alone. lol

Planning on running a compression test and going from there. I'll be on H-T all weekend probably. lol

Hell I was running 1 bar on my y7 and ran fine until I spun a rod bearing for the couple of months I was driving it.

Just got a chance to run a compression test:
190 190 190 80

Not too bad eh?

was that "190 190 190 80" OR 180. i think u meant 180 right?

sounds like a bent rod or even a spun bearing

Why not just dump your oil and see what comes out? If there's chunks of rod or block coming out with that oil, a timing gun isn't going to be necessary

No not yet. I think i'm gonna drain the oil on Mon or Tues at least.
I'm planning on swapping this one for a JDM D15b, i figured that was the best option $$$ wise.

if you do that sell me your turbo kit . But yea sounds like the motor is shot, you could just get a new short block, and be done with it. I can get you a hx motor(d16y5) with the head and all for like 100 bucks. And i am in orlando.

Meh, 11psi is fine if you have a good tune.

I run 10psi on my D15b vtec everyday and have hit 15 psi on more than on occasion
