Default did i really just bend the valves on this car?

well as the topic states.

i had the cams half way between the top and bottom (UP mark or arrow was facing front of the car angled a bit downward). then i had to spin the crank by hand, felt a bit of resistance, stoped, released the cam caps, allowed the valves to close, proceded to place the crank at its propper position.

reason why i had to do all this in the first place was because someone fucked up the timin belt job big time and i was fixing it.

when i was done putting the cams where they were supposed to be at, the car now has NO COMPRESSION on any cylinder. its an eclipse turbo motor by the way, i decided to ask here because of the higher volume of techs in here.

let me know what you guys think, i for one honnestly did not believe one could bend valves by hand, i didnt think they were THAT weak.

Are the 4-cyl mitsu motors interference engines as well? And I wouldn't think you could bend the valves, possibly marr them enough to cause a slight (but still noticeable) leak around the valve port though.

Did u have the plugs out whenever u were trying to spin it by hand??? It could have been the compression stroke that was giving you the resistance.

Are you sure you were turning the motor in the right direction?? You def shouldnt have loosened the cam caps whenever u were turning it over because their shouldnt have been a need to unless the timing was off from the last belt job.

The car is probably out of time. You need to make sure the that #1 cyl is at TDC and then set the cams in time. If you still have no compression in anycylinder pull the head.

car was brought to me runnin really bad shutting off and everything. checked physical timin, it was off. while trying to line everything up, i thought i had bent the valves. it turns out that the fitting on my compression tester was not threading in enough or that the threads on this head were bad, i used a fitting on my compression tester with longer threads of same diameter and pitch and was able to do a compression test. there were no bent valves it was all just one of those days.
