Tach help needle bouncing
The car runs fine but when it gets to about 5000 rpm it bounces all the way from 0 to 8000. Any suggestions on why. It works fine and is steady below 5000.
Thanks
Thanks
The tach bouncing is the ignitor on the way out. Keep a spare in the glove box, and get ready for The Big Stop.
The speedo bouncing is usually the vehicle speed sensor taking a ****.

I always carry a spare already mounted to the heatsink
because mine has gone out twice now..once bitten twice shy..
The second time I replaced it on the side of the road..
If it says "OKI" on it,it is a piece of crap..
Skip Mic:i dont mean to jack the thread but this is abt my mph is keep bouncing from 0 to 35 mph then after 40mph it goes normal ....why does this do this ?
One thing that will cause this is if the speedometer cable needs to be lubed..
Without grease it will hang and bind or "whip" and cause the needle to flucutate..
