95 civic b17a1 swap....C.E.L.
my friends swap was in for about a week and was running on the original p28 ecu and no CEL or anything...then we got a p61...and it ran 100% better and faster but CEL came on...isn't there a way to check the code? any reason why it would throw a code on a different ecu? maybe a bad ecu?
you have to check what code is it
the P28 ECU dont need some sensors that other ECU need, like the knock sensor, if you have a (bad or disconected) knock sensor, and you are runing a p28, you wont never get a cehck engine for that, because the p28 dont search for it, but when you put a ECU that need it and the ecu dont find it, it will turn on the check engine
check what is the code

you have to jumper your ecu, there is a little plug located near or above ur ecu i forget the color wires this is but you will see it, its a plug that looks like sumthing should be pluged up to it , you have to jumper this by puting a wire or paperclip in each hole. then you start your car and watch the number of time the CEL symbol blinks, a long one is 10 and a short is 1.
