Great, add another R part to the discontinued list.
Amongst everything else that is discontinued, the floor matts have just been dumped? I already know the trunk matt was just discontinued, but the floor matts too? I thought Honda had an obligation to keep produing parts 10 yrs after the producion date. Or are the floor matts considered "accesories?" Ahhhhhhhhh...
I guess American Honda is discontinuing the accessory/part they consider aren't vital to the cars operation first.:shrugs:
Yeah, but they arent exactly giving the stuff away for free. We as R owners pay a pretty high price for them to keep manufacturing these pieces (ex. paying outrageous prices for OEM parts and accesories). I say as long as the market is there, keeping making and selling. According to you, Honda would be getting "sick" of making money which I highly doubt.

This was actually the justification I got when I tried to buy replacement parts for my R couple months ago at my local dealer... Okay, not exactly, but they said that there were too many being purchased to put on non-ITR's (i.e. way more parts being sold for the number of actual ITRs made). He ended it off with some brand protection thing for the R's...
He said he couldn't even order it for me, when I told him I had a "Real Type-R" outside in the parking lot...

The floor mats that are accesories have been discontinued. But the 00 ( i think) and 01 ITR's came with floor mats from the factory, and you can still get those floor mats.
They are different in that they are all black vs the grey and black cross hatching style like the accesory mats.

Are you sure 00's came from factory with floor mats? I have a 00' PY and the 00' mats are the gray/black checkered kind. Only 01' are made all black with the thin foam. ****....I hope 00' and 01' came that way from the factory, then they have to keep selling them at least until the 10 year statute expires.

1) Sell them down the road to someone begging for them.
2) My floormats have a nasty habit of developing burn holes where my heels rest.
#2 = j/k, but they do eventually get all fugged up.
