Default autometer tack

i put an autometer sport comp tack in my 89 crx. after i installed the tack it caused my car to missfire, but when i disconnected it it ran fine. any way to still use the tack?

Are you sending the TACH the RPM signal from the distributor? If so, did you just cram the wire inside the connector? My friend did this and the wire was shorting out to the other wires in the distributor plug. I recommend soldering or [if you MUST] using a t-tap connector to attach the wire. Not too sure on the ED chassis, but on the EH there is an RPM signal wire on the driver shock tower...this is where I recommend sending the TACH the RPM signal if the ED's have it there.
