I think I fried my b16a1 starter? help please
Alright I was ******* with my ground wires putting new ones on...I start my car and it cranks and then nothing.
Check my new ground wire and it's completely melted my dumb *** had grounded to the chassy and not back to the fuse box. So I re-hooked up the old wire my car cranked for about 10 secs and then nothing...
now it wont even crank at all but I definitely have power.
WTF!!
how do I know if my starter is done? i don't have a voltmeter or any of that crap.
also if it is jacked can I just replace with 90-93 Integra or do I need another b16??
someone let me know asap so I fix this now!!

first things first.
put battery power to your starter directly. surefire test. no fuses, relays, or anything in the circuit, just direct battery power. You may be better off pulling the starter out to do this test. Don't forget to energize the solenoid as well as the motor itself..
by the way, what ground wire are you talking about that you hooked to the chassis and then fried? EXACTLY where was it hooked to on both ends??

Exactly. What was the problem? Others can learn from your mistake.

Oh of course I feel dumb!
The two wires connecting to solenoid..the obvious one going to positive battery and the other one leading to fuse box ignition. Anyway for some damn odd reason when I was undoing the wires I redid the ignition wire as a ground and that's why it fried.
However, I'm still not sure sure it wouldn't crank and then I heard nothing? but I just let it cool off for about 1 hour, came back and it started right up
