i bought 2002 RSX-S, yesterday... how about?
finally i bought RSX type S yesterday at carmax(because of
system)...
2002years,
33k,
no accident,
one owner,
clean,
extended warranty +6years/60k,
i can return this car to dealer until next saturday.
i confuse '05 CIVIC SI vs '02 RSX TYPE S yet......
price of si ≒ price of rsx-s + 2000$
plz your opinion! thx~

so you bought the RSX-S for 17k? I assume you're talking about the Si at MSRP.
It depends what you want, I would get the Si though. Mainly because 02 was the first year of the RSX and some problems existed then that were fixed in the later models.

Keep the Type S, why would you want to downgrade from a 6 speed tranny with 200hp to a 5 speed with 160? My vote goes to the type S all the way
Si is a nice car however your gonna wish you had the power plant from the S. What color RSX? Leather?

I would return that 2002 and search for a newer rsx or one with less miles. The dealers are practically trying to get rid of any 2004 rsx at this point and you can get a GREAT deal on it. maybe a couple thousand more but you can get a NEW car if you arent afarid to throw away your "love" for the car and have patience. You car has 33k miles on it? it was driven over the yearly expected milage (12.5k or something) which drops its value.
Buying a car should never involve your emotions, otherwise you'll get into a bad deal. Trust me, I got a bad deal because I was in a hurry to get a car. 17k for a used 2002 rsx when you could get a brand spanking new one for a little more than that. Trust me, take it back. There will be a better deal if you arent afarid to look around and outside your area slightly. Also, your insurance is gonna suck with an rsx, unless its in your parents name. I was quoted 250-260 JUST for insurance. The car payments should be around 300 for 17k. Make sure you can afford to drive the car
One example, 2003 rsx-s with 7k miles was sold for 17k on ebay. Car was in my area too. Check ebay, it isnt that bad if the car is close enough to inspect. Check alot of dealerships even non Honda/Acura ones because they do get trade-ins sometimes.

Another example... current RSX-s auction.. 2003 with 22k and upgrades. Can "Buy it Now" for 17k. Has Tinted windows, custom wheels, etc etc.. and I prefer the black color also

Also, if you can wait just a few more months until we get to 2005, the cars will drop that much more in price.
Either way though, you cant go wrong with a Honda / Acura car
Just try to get the best deal possible!!!

I was in the same predicament you are in. I wanted a 2001 GSR (The voltage metallic blue) one with 40k on it was going to run me about 17k. Then i went looking around my town for GSR's. I found my 04 Black HFP Ep3 for 19k. I went with the ep3 because it had 200 miles on it, and a warranty and it was a good deal with the HFP kit on it. After it was said and done i spent 21k on the car. I lost power but i gained a brand new car. No worries bout the previous owner or anything like that. The only advice i can give to you is don't rush into a deal. Patience's is what will get you a good deal.
"If you say no to a good deal you will find a great deal later."
Just make sure you will be happy in 6 months from now. You dont want to rush into buying a car and realize 6 months later that you should have waited and searched for a car that would satisfy you to the fullest. But dont forget its your car, your money, you do what you want to do with it^^
Either way you are getting a bad *** car!!!!!
