Default Exhaust to loud

I got a b18b and I used to love the sound of it when I gave it a shot. Ever since I installed a straight through cat., 2.25inch mandrel bent midpipe with a 22inch resonator and a straight through canister muffler all I can hear is the stupid exhaust. Anyway I can shut the bastard exhaust up without ditching the system? maybe I should get a chambered muffler?

Change the muffler and youll get a different sound to it. The muffler itself gives it 75% of the exhaust sound.

The thing is that the muffler sounded incredibly deep and smooth before I got the midpipe and new cat. I think maybe a dual tipped muffler thats a bit longer might be a better choice.

If it really bothers you just change the width of the piping. but if u like the sound theres not much u can do to change the loudness.

Im gonna try putting in the baffle and see if that helps too because I've never tried that yet.

I agree... if you changed your muffler to a dual chambered muffler (such as the Type R one), it will be stock quiet with out too much of a loss of power. On my 4 door EK, it was the loudest thing around, even with 2 18" resonators on 2.5 inch piping with a flat black ES oval muffler, but when I threw on the ITR 4 door muffler, it's as quiet as quiet can be, and plus it looks hot.

With the baffle in the car sounds like a little 50cc dirtbike, thats not gonna fly.

when you say straight through cat do you mean you gutted your cat or do you have a functional cat on your car? Cat's have a large impact on the sound of an exhaust and without them a lot of exhausts sound like *** unless they at least have a resonator in it.
