B20????
I wanted to know what tranny and mounts and ecu i would have to use. also is the b20 better than the b16a1 stock and if not what about with like new pistons cuz i heard the compssion ratio is horrendous. Oh yeah whats the diff. between a b20b and a b20z?
and last, where can i get one and about how much??
-thanks for your help guys. "Wutang n*gga, dats whats up"

Hey check out http://www.b20vtec.com I know the most people just use the B16a tranny, but any b-series bolts up to it so take your pick. If I'm wrong someone here correct me. As for mounts there are companys that make mount kits like hasport, place racing and etc. so take your pick.
if you putting it into ef then you need a mount kit like place racing or hasport. you need to change the intake manifold to the ls cause the b20 is to tall. the b20b has 8.8 comp and makes 126hp and the b20z has 9.6 comp and 146hp so if you can go with the b20zout of a 99-00 crv.
Call HASport and speak to Joe, he has a B20 in his Ef I thought last I talked to him, he may also have some computer solutions for you as well. I believe the website should have the number... http://www.hasport.com
There is alot of good info here too www.crvtec.com
Use a vtec head on it. I'm hoping to upgrade my B16A to CRVTEC soon. My friend had to go out and get a 01 ITR, so I have to make sure I stay faster

Hm... I think the simplest option for a straight B20 into a CRX without Vtec would be to use a 88-91 Prelude ecu... Those are 2.0L and they're Pre-OBD.. So it should work(theoretically) Does anybody know for sure...
I have the ecu available if you need.

Hey.. what model of CRX do you have? If it's an Si... then I think you should be able to run the car with the PM6 ecu... Whether if it'll have enough fuel will be a different story... Due to the fact that the ecu is for a 1.6L and the motor is a 2.0L... So you could use a PR4 (90-91 TEG ecu) That'll be a little better. Cause basically a B20B/Z is just a larger D16a6 or a B18a..
For the intercahnge of parts.. You'll need to change the injectors and distributor. Injectors.. you might want to use some 92-95 Prelude Vtec injectors (they flow more). Make sure they're Vtec ones... cause the Non-Vtec injectors are Saturated injectors and they won't work properly.
Next.. the distributor that you need is again... from a 90-91 Integra... They should bolt right up... cause the B20B/Z motor basically uses an LS head...
So take the wiring harness off your old motor.. and just transfer if over to the B20B/Z motor and plug it all up and you should be able to start. vroom vroom.
If you have any other problems or questions feel free to post here or email me. Good luck.

thanks guys and i got an (HF) oh yeah no one ever answered my ?? is the b20 stock(non-vtec) faster than a b16a1?? Anyways thanks for all tha help....
I have the same question. How much power with b20 none vtec with 11 or 10.50 compression? maybe some headwork. Sounds like a lot of fun in a crx roadrace-track car. My zc is to slow now days.

It's hard to say which would be faster.. Assuming the two motors in the same body style. I know that the B20 would be great for track... pulling right out of the turns, but on a straight away.. The Vtec would shine...
Hope that helps a bit.
I've got a b20b in my crx
I am in fact using the crx si injectors, and distributor. I'm currently running the crx si ecu (pm6?)
but the 90-91 non-vtec teg ecu will work as well (pr4) but make sure you get the 90-91 ecu.
the car feels nice and torquey...I'm very very satisfied...haven't run it at the track yet.

You can use the CRX distributor. You just cannot totally bolt it up. I used mine for a few hundred miles bolted by 2 bolts. Worked fine. But for piece of mind I went out to buy a 90-91 distributor.
