how bad is it to drive a b18c1 powered eg in the snow
i just moved to jersey for job relocation and wondered how bad its going to be to drive my car, 95 coupe with a b18c1 with an s4c trans out of a 99 si
If your car is lowered, that will hamper you more. I got stuck for five hours in the snow last year because my car is too damn low.

bump for more nj b18c1 egs. i'm looking forward to my first winter in my 92 cx b18c1... bought a set of toyo proxes 4 all season performance tires...great in the wet we'll see about snow... i wouldn't worry too much though unless you've radically altered your suspension.. just keep your foot out of it and you'll live.

i think that every single Honda Tech member can say this, unfortunately.
when the snow gets really crazy, you should try putting chains on the tires dude.

Aren't chains illegal on the roads? They used to make studded tires back in the day, but they chewed up the asphalt. I wouldn't recommend drifting the civic too much...thats hard on your chassis and it will screw up your tires eventually.
I drove my 99 Si with a ~2" drop in substantial New England snow on a 70 mile round trip commute for a few winters. Not a problem.
Just A) run good snow tires and B) don't drive like an idiot. Snow tires don't allow you to do 60 on the freeway in whiteout snow, despite what you see on the WRC shows on Speed.

Belmar, NJ...never heard of anyone really needing to use chains...in most towns in nj snow removal is pretty effective, so i wouldn't worry about anything too serious..just get good all season tires, or snow tires and you'll be a'ight

we've never had a chained wheel truck plow our driveway. they're all 4x4s tho. Perhaps a 2wd may. I've only ever seen tractors with the chains for plowing, but they don't have snow tires.

You'll be fine. It's just basically like driving a GSR in the snow.
I'm in Central NJ and it never really gets that bad. I'm sure you're a pretty good driver, so with some common sense, snow isn't anything to worry about.
