Default Honda civic HX help

Im stuck between a rock and a hard place.. i own a 1998 honda civic w/ ex tranny.. all i am really trying to do is beat most cars on the road.. What would you guys reccomend.. Replace the HX head w/ a ex head to get the real vtec instead of my shitty gas saving vtec-e.. replace the pistons and the rods.. I/H/E of course.. adjustable cam gears and go w/ a APEXI Vtec controller.. and turbo it, you guys think this would beat most if not all stock cars on the road? Would this really be worth the trouble?

most people are going to tell you to swap and/or boost. definitely swap the head for vtec and then possibly boost. i would suggest that you look into autox if you really want to feel competitive. i'm sure you'd enjoy it and you could save some of the money from tickets to put into your car.
