v-tce head on a d16y5
hey guys, over the past 2 days, i have learned a bunch. well know i found out i have an econony vtec (vtec-e) and its not the performance v tec. what head do i need to make it hit like performane v-tec. oh and wat would i need to swap out to make all this work rite? and roughly how much is it gonna cost? what vehciles did these performance v-tecs come in? where can i find one? Tia playas...

The "performance" VTEC heads came in all 93+ EX and 92-95 SI motors. It's not worth the upgrade. The biggest difference will come from swapping out the HX tranny for a shorter ratio EX/SI gearbox.
If you want more, go with forced induction.

you could go with a d16y8 head, but then you will have ecu problems, so you would need to swap out the p2n ecu for an EX one (dunno the code)
like top shotta said, get a 92-95 ex/si tranny or d16y8 tranny and it should help a bit. dont underestimate the hx and keep the roller rockers!!!
