This is more of a venting post were I can release my anger so here it goes......

I had bought an 89 honda civic si a year ago for 5k which I learned I would never get when I wanted to sell it (now). Well sometime in june I crashed the car and took it to one of my uncle's body guys who worked on his 56' chevy show car. Well it took about 5 months to get done because he said he couldn't find a headlight for the car, while in my head I was asking myself how you couldn't find an 89 civic headlight but I let it go and he just kept carrying out the date that he said it would be done.

Well I got it back on tuesday (10-26) and then the next day around 2pm while I was in school it was stollen out of the school parking lot. I told the cops and thursday I received a call from the Milwaukee WI (300 + - miles away from were it was stollen) police department that they had pulled over two people driving my civic around. Well the drivers window is busted, the steering column and ignigtion is all F**ked up and I'm guessing my interior is dreched because of all the rain WI has been getting.

So I'm here wondering how I am going to get this paid for when I have to pay 500 for the deductible so that I can make a claim to get it all fixed which is going to take even more time and then the two people that were interested in buying it will probably wonder were my car is and if its worth buying after beeing stollen. Not to mention I have to find somewere to get 500 when I just bought my ls motor with all the money I could spare and try to pay the 200 for the insurance.

I wish there was a way to scream and not sound retarted on here because thats what I would be doing right now....I hardly put 300 miles on that car since the day I bought it, since I don't drive it in the winter!

 

damn that sucks, the people that stole it drove it just as much as you did

Hey if you have Comp you might not have any ded. I would check before you make a final decision. I work insurance claims for a living and know may people have no or little ded on COMP which is what covers theft

 

I bet you could get it all fixed up for less than 500. be resourceful and patient.

wait a couple of years (and dont dog it out) and you just might see more of 'em selling for 5K in good condition. Its a classic car worth keeping.

 

I don't want to wait it out...try beeing a 16 yr old who goes all summer w/o a car to drive and asking people to get you to work....it sux! Plus I was pumped to get my project car started but thats all at a stand still because of all this S**t with my car. It just gets really frustrating paying soo much on insurance for a car you hardly drive.

Yes and they were about to send me 5k for the car but then they found out that they found the car so now I don't know whats going on...it always seems like sh*t takes forever with this type of thing and almost everything else it sux because when your 16 you can't do anything it all has to go through your parents and if they don't really car then...it just sux and I get pissed just thinking about it.

the car will probably be totalled and you'll get your money.

blue book is what they base the total value on, so you got no problems.

 

Actually I have it insured for 5k because thats what I paid for it.

Could you refresh my memory on what a premium is...is that what you pay per year?

My premium is about 1450 a year but is going to go up because of the accident I was in earlier in the year.
