Default Suggestions: Full lightweight (aluminum) coilovers

Hey,

I know that MOST of you will tell me to use the SEARCH option!

But i've already looked into things and wanted some more opinions about this. I have a 98 Integra (non Type R) and want to pick up a set of coilovers again.

I've had Tein HA's in the past and they caused me problems with rusting. And I recently have ran H&R roadrace coilovers (16k front, 14k rear).

Note, I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada and daily drive my car, even thru the winter and such. I don't want to have to deal with rusting or seizing up issues again.

I daily drive my car and don't mind it being a little stiff, and I want to weekend track my car again.

Any suggestions on some coilovers to get? I've thought about:

-Buddy Club racing spec coilovers
-Apex N1's
-Spoon Showa coilovers
-Teins (the newer ones, not sure about which models)

So I want a good coilover that can handle abuse whether it be daily driving or at the track. I want it lightweight and to be made out of something so it won't rust up or seize on me.

Any suggestions??????

Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated!!!

Operator error, anti-seize is your friend.

Dont worry about 'lightweight' you wont be able to tell the difference anyways.

I have the Spoon N1s and live in Vancouver

No rusting that I can see - but I don't drive my car as much as you do.

If you're concerned about rusting - just put a good coat of grease on the coilovers before you install them and re-lube as necessary.

Just get whatever is the best price for your budget.

Why are you dropping $2500 on a set of race coilovers for a daily driven car--especially one that will see winter and salt?

A lot of competition coiloevrs don't even have dust boots. And let me mention that some are not made for lasting more than 10K miles.

Honestly, I'd look at a set of Konis/GC sleeves for what you want. A little less of an investment, should be ok through winter and you won't be giving up a ton of performance. Plus, the Konis are a little easier to get rebuilt than any of the JDM setups.

The TODA Racing FIGHTEX coilovers are fantastic, definitely worth a long look. I have been more than happy with the performance with mine.

yeah why BC?
I have them, and I love them

but they WILL rust, as they are steel body
I am wiling to take the time, and take care of mine, so rust isn't an issue for me
but ive seen some rusted BCs, and it ain't pretty

if rust and weight is an issue

1) Well, I can get them locally for a good deal.
2) I like the aluminum pillowmount option
3) And i've done some research into them and I think i'll be happy with them as well

They WILL rust? I was told that the Racing Spec dampers are powdercoated or plated black instead of painted, to prevent and fight against the weather conditions and to strengthen the coilover

hmmm.....

I guess I should research more and look into some full aluminum coilovers. Any suggestions now?
