Default 01 ITR Tranny - Problems with reverse.

My 01 ITR has recently had problems getting into reverse. All other gears are smooth as silk, but for some reason it just wont go into reverse. The odd thing is it comes and goes. Sometimes it goes in fine, and other times its impossible. Some have told me its prob the synchro, but I didn't think reverse had one. I had the transmition flushed and that didn't seem to help. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Yeah its honda MTF. Today it was really bad. I had the clutch in and ran through all the gears fine, but still couldn't get it into reverse. I eventually forced it in ... had to let off the clutch a bit and give it a little gas, which = a pretty horrible grinding noise, then it clicked in and reverse worked fine. I drove it out to get lunch, then I tried it again after driving a little bit and I could get it in much easier, but it was still tough.

How does this happen? Is it easy/hard, cheap/expensive to fix ?

Did you put in first and let it role foward a bit? It's a real pain in the *** when having to parallel park here in Germany.

Yeah I know that happens sometimes, but it isn't that. When you put it in reverse after driving for any length of time you can feel something is wrong. Feels like something is in the wrong place, its honestly feels like something is in the wrong place. Although I don't really know the interworkings of a tranny to be able to determine what the problem is.

It sounds super simplistic, but I have driven many vehicles where you nearly have to do that every time to smoothly get in reverse. It's definitely not the end all be all solution, but it's worth trying.
