problem getting it into reverse
i tried the "Neutral, then a gear like 4th or 3rd, then Reverse and it still doesnt work....
however, i tried laying it gently into reverse, then releasing the clutch a lil (not pushed to the floor) and it goes in?
huh

Sometimes I have to let up on the clutch slightly to get into reverse, actually I have had to do it in multiple cars(and one truck), I assume it's normal.
My car has a bad time with reverse. If I start my car, it will go into reverse no problem. As soon as I pull the car out of the garage, close the door, and pull out of the driveway, it is almost impossible to get into reverse. I sometimes get stuck at gas stations when someone pulls in front of me. I will sit there for a couple of minutes trying to jam it in.
the same thing happened to me...an reverse lights wouldnt go on after awhile...my friend at Honda fixed it...changed the tranny fluid w/ honda mtf not synthetic...and it works perfect now.....my tranny fluid was old and dirty...hope that helps... [

I agree with *****rAcEr.
First --> Nuetral --> Reverse usually works for me.
Never "Cram" it though, ouch!
The Reverse synchro is the culprit.
Try double-clutching to ensure that the synchro and the engine are spinning at the same speed.
Double-clutching isn't only for +6,000 rpm racing.

my car does the same thing.. but i have a bad release bearing on the clutch which is gonna get replaced this wknd.. other than that, my other car did that every once in a while so i dont think ur in trouble
just putting it into a different gear and then trying for reverse doesn't work all the time.
every gear except for reverse (incl. first) has synchros, so if it isn't going into reverse at all, you have to either roll the car (so it rolls the lay shaft) or roll the input shaft. so put it into neutral, release clutch then you can put it into reverse. or if you are rolling down a hill a little it will slip in as well.
