Default Not Honda related, but still car related

My sister emails me this morning about her car not starting - Mazda Protege '96, I think. Her powerlocks don't work and I'm guessing the lights and windshield wipers don't work either. She took it to a place last night after work to get the oil changed, came home, went to sleep.
The car doesn't click or crank at all. Any ideas?

Just some basics:

Check battery connection
Check fuses

This happened to my sister, too. The battery cables were loose and one fell off.

I hope it's this basic!

Turned out she left the lights on all night. Sheesh.
