car won't start! HELP
i have a 1990 civic si with a jdm 1st gen b16a in it....it's been working fine for the past 2 months but yesterday, when i was coming back home, my car just didn't turn on. at first, the alternator, oil, seatbelt, etc. lights came on but as soon as i cranked my motor to start up, the lights went dead. after that, i couldn't turn on any of my electrical things (lights, radio, clock). i checked some of my fuses, and none were broken. i jumped started my car and drove it home ok. then i woke up this morning to drive to school, and same thing happened. as soon as i crank my car, the alternator/oil/seatbelt lights flash on and then die immediately. does anyone know what this is? i hope i don't have a short in my car somewhere, i wouldn't even know how to find it...
Well, I'm guessing its your battery. This just happened with my car. I had recently gotten a new battery, but the terminal was all corroded, so it was not getting juice when the car was on, plus i didnt run it every day, so it didnt have any power. So i think you should check your connections, maybe invest in a battery charger or change your terminals, or maybe im totally wrong!
It could be a bad battery or a bad connection at the battery terminals- I see this quite often. Check your terminals at the battery and at the fuse box and ground.
not true- a bad connection at the battery- you put the jumper cables over the battery clamps and the car starts- wow. I see it all the time- Loose cable clamps.
