Is this intake legal?
It's going to depend on where your coming from. Technically it's not legal, but it's usually only a problem where the cops give you a hard time. Cali for example is notorious for pulling you over, popping your hood, and pointing and ticketing. Here in Nevada... I haven't had any problems nor been pulled over for my intake/exhaust in the year I've had my car. *knock on wood*
depends on what state you're in. for most states it should be legal. CA and NY are a little stricter, so i'm not certain for those, but it would be legal in VA.
I live in So Cal.. I have a drag 3 kit, and I've only been pulled over once (and that was back.. wayyy back when my car was auto). Because my 'rear wheels were spinning' aka "Burning Out" as the officer had explained to me, I laughed under my breath, told the officer "Sir, my car is front wheel drive." and stood there shitfaced and bidded me a good day, didn't even ask for my license or registration. Well, I guess where I'm getting at is, don't drive like an *******, and 9/10 you won't get pulled over.. the other 1 will be probable BS

nope not in cali i got one and im still paying it off! it isn't one a police officer can sign off you have to call the state refferee number and find a station near you and they do a test on your car to see if it passes! the ticket is +/- 450 without correction and i dont know how much it is with a correction because mine never got corrected!

Not necessarily, if you think about it an intake is a piece of metal pipe. The only difference between yours and an AEMv2 for example is they have some sort of velocity stack within the filter (I saw it on their site) and claim it has better airflow. Honestly, you could make your own from mandrel bent pipe w/ cuts to fit your engine bay. IMO it's all just metal. Dyno charts show that unless you are a serious racer worried about tenths or hundredths of a second, then there is no point on buying the name brand technology, unless of course, you want the bling.
If I am incorrect in my views or wrong about the new AEMv2 technology or the amazing accomplishments of another company, please let me know.
