Just installed skunk2 coivovers and the directions said not to put on the dustcovers.. will this ruin my new tokicos?

 

What i did with mine is replace the stock metal dust cover with a universal power steering bellow from autozone. I just zip-tied the bottom on the shock body and the top one, i let it rest between the washer and upper mount. The pic shows the rear which has the upper part of the boot zip tied as well.
