You peeps need to calm down just a tad there... This thread has nothing to do with my motor. The only reason why the pictures are even posted was becuz someone was flaming the motor for its inability to perform to its respective counterpart the almighty h23. The motor has the exact same characteristics as the h23, but with its extra .1 liter displacement.
Other than that, you guys want to know whats up with my motor. Well this is my setup in this motor:

JDM f22b DOHC NON vtec motor
95 Turbo Eclipse Pistons
Eclipse t25 Turbo Upgraded to a 16G
Custom Mounted Eclipse Turbo Manifold

but my question is whats up w/ the dsm pistons?
i know the eclipse pistons are the same diameter as f series pistons.
also the f series do not have frm sleeves there cast iron so don't say the sleeves are to weak, or they wont work with forged pistons cause you'd be wrong
any info about putting dsm pistons in an f22 will be appreciated
i'm hoping this ends up being a good way to get cheap turbo pistons for the f series

all you need to do is check the dimensions on both sets of pistons. (wrist pin hight etc) im sure the DSM pistons will more than likely NOT WORK.

 

so how did that guy do it?

 

maybe he got a custom length rod and was able to run the dsm pistons.

I think the Stroke Is exactly the same between the Two motors.
Providing the Compression height on the pistons is the same, It could be more feasible than you think.
It could be just a matter of opening up either the rod or the piston to accept a different size wrist pin ?

 

true. im just guessing off the top of my head.

i know if i were gonna do it, id be looking for a complete spec sheet on both engines, not asking "will it work" i really could care less if it works or not. lol

I may not know what I'm talking about, but the bore has to be the same for the piston to fit, right? A 4g63 is 2.0L and an f22 is obviously 2.2L. So, how do two engines with the same bore and different displacements have the same stroke?

 

he made a typo there bore is the same

The bore is the same as welll. The bore is 85mm
There are many other factors that determine displacement.

Im am 2nd thinking though. My previous post i think i was mistaking what i had said with another motor.....
i think i've got something else confused.....


okie... The 4g63 is 85mm bore by 88mm stroke.
The f22 has a 90mm stroke.
the pistons could somehow still work, but it seems like a longshot and more figuring out that i want to do right now.

I'm sure it's not hard to find out. I'd bet someone on a DSM forum knows the various dimensions of the DSM pistons and rods. If someone could get the measurements on the Accord pistons and rods then maybe some conclusions could be drawn form the comparison of data. I'm gonna leave that to one of you Accord guys though, I have little to no vested interest in this.
