and got a PM from a mod telling me the he removed it and if i posted it again it would be removed again. he then told me to try ebay or get their "platinum membership" F that, im not going to pay to be part of a forum. I read the rules and its because i dont have that membership or 400 posts. there was a thread on here talking about that site sucking ***.

Thanks,
Victor from VA

yeah, i have an account there but the site pretty much blows. the people arent too bad but overall the layout and the info thats on the forums is just crap compared to what you get over here at H-T
I think they're a little harsh on people putting stuff up for sale...
But I think there should be a limit, if you're not a regular there, you shouldn't be able to come in one day and sell stuff...
I think 100 posts is a reasonable amount... I know other sites I'm with (ocforums.com) has 100 and it's pretty scam free... and you KNOW there are classified boards you shouldn't buy stuff from... so where's the legitimacy of having precautions?
Platinum... I bought it to help support the site, I know it's not a huge market the EP3, so I don't have a problem supporting something I get so much pertinent info from...
Sorry for your problem... I'd ask you to think about it this way... The rules are very tight-knit... it makes a very peaceful and pleasant community, though it turns off probably alot of people like yourself who probably should be able to post FS items etc... Just saying there's a broad spectrum of forums, some are wild with everybody participating and tempers flare sort of thing (here) and like ephatch, like an elementary school (maybe too basic and calm)...
I know that the owner makes great efforts to listen to members and mods about how they think the site should be run and at the same time keeping vendors chipping in to pay for the site... if anybody could post something for sale, what reason do the vendors have to pay to run the site? It's economics and personal preference as to how the community works and it's no slight upon you, so hope you don't take it that way.

You guys are on the wrong side of the fence. First off, look at it from their point of view: Some new guy comes to their community and tries to sell stuff. We all hear the horror stories of people getting ripped off, or unreliable sellers, etc.
The way I see it, they're trying to make a close knit group of members, unlike H-T. Obviously if you've posted 400 times people on the forum are going to know you and respect you and trust you.
The problem with sites such as H-T and Clubsi, etc. is that they allow anybody to sell anything they want, regardless of how many posts you have, how well they are known, etc. It has it's pro's and con's just like H-T, being that you most likely won't be ripped off by a member that is able to sell, however you'll prolly have a harder time finding what you need/want.
This isn't intended to put H-T down, or to boost EPhatch, just to take a different spin on it. And BTW most of the people on that site are pretty cool.

Yeah, I can name a dozen or so at best. The rest are little bitches or immature idiots.
I joined in Jan of '03 and I only have 271 posts. 99% of which are there for assistance to other members. I rarely ask for anything, and I always contribute when possible. I feel helping other members with their issues is more of a contribution to the site than $20 or whatever it has gone up to now. Feel free to look me up there under jandetuning. It's the only forum where I don't use my real name, and I haven't had it changed because I just don't care that much for the site anymore. I'm just not going to pay for the vendor access, the ability to upload images, or other features when I can do better myself elsewhere.

Ya, Jan 03 here too, 104 replies, I only assist those that need help. Oh well!
This board is all that I need really. I notice that you'll see most of the info here first, then repeated on other boards.
for H-T!
Styles, cya Wed!
Thanks,
Victor

I don't understand the logic between the # of posts someone has and there integrity? The mods on that site are too suffocating and restrictive, all the topics seem so closely monitered that one feels as if they are back in 3rd grade.. The fact remains that the key ingredient in any trip through any classifieds section is common sense, and that's one thing a mod can never manufacuter no matter how hard their editorial efforts..Maybe if they excercised a more free atmosphere they wouldn't have to charge people $20 to pay the bills
