Default >>>Del Sol Harness Bar/Mounting Locations<<<

Are there any harness bars on the market right now for the sol? Where do you mount say a Takata or any 4 point harness (only on driver's side)? Is there any holes to build your own Harness bar and bolt it into the sol? What is a good height to have the bar at so you don't kill your self?

I KNOW IT's ALot of questions BUT TIA.

A harness bar or a roll cage? I know they have a roll cage and can get one but I prefer a harness bar.

I know there was a few guys on here selling them like 2-3 years ago. There were two types. One mounted near the floor and the other near the bottom of the rear window. There were also roll bar/harness bars made. I cant remember who they were but they might not be on this board no longer. I havent been to this board since 2002. Just came back like a month ago. I'll see what I can find though.

Have you checked out Sparco? I knwo they make harness bars. The way they work is triangulation. It bolts into the stock seat belt bolts. So you see rigth above your shoulder belt. on the side? there is a bolt. and then the waist part is bolted at teh bottom. it bolts in there. and protrudes backwards. to sort of make a triangle.

FYI your bar for most harness manufactures is too high, check this out.

http://www.crowenterprizes.com....html

the mounting point needs to be parrallel or lower 10 degrees to function right.

PS. its not smart to run a harness in a car with out a roll bar, on the street.

Isn't that peice that houses the rear window sturdy enough? I know it is very sturdy even though the windshield tends to cave on sols. I just dont want to cut a ton out of my dash. I contacted heeltoe about a cusco roll cage and they said they can get one and then i asked about a cusco harness bar and havent gotten a response yet.

Also i dont think sparco makes a bar for the del sol.

the cusco roll bar for the sol is discontinued, dangerous, and doesn't meet any regulations.

try Searching. there are many threads about del sol roll cages/bars.

2 of 8 question have been answered.

check out the crowenterprize site for mounting a harness

and about the bad. get a Roll bar that has a harness bar built in if you want to run a harness.

so the rest of your questions are answered now too.

BOTTOM LINE DON'T RUN A HARNESS ON THE STREET WITH OUT A ROLL BAR.
