Erick's Racing 10 second 268 hp run (with video)
This dyno graph shows that a well built and tuned high output engine can still have a broad power curve. When racing a shift point of 10,500 rpm is used, but the engine has seen over 11,000 rpm on a number of occasions.
Erick's best time is 10.71 @ 123 mph at Sacramento on 7 Oct. He uses a Hondata stage 2 ($345) on a P72 ECU.
This car sounds awesome at 10,000 - 11,000 rpm. Check out the videos at http://www.hondata.com/
Doug
WOW! That is truely some AWSOME power! I would expect it to make a little more torque though...but the HP is amazing for a 2.0 all motor car!
Very nice! Congrats to them

There's three reasons garfield rides shotgun in Erick's car:
1. At LACR (palmdale) one night, the engine was making a funny squeaking sound when staging. The crew was informed by an official that he was sure that is was the waterpump bearing, which is odd since the car has an electric waterpump. Thus in part the squeaky toy was installed so that LACR could be told the cause of the the sound, so that they were not concerned that the engine was going to dump fluid on the start line.
2. In the film ******, a dog swallows a squeaky toy. The crew found this particularly entertaining a decided that others should share this moment.
3. The squeaky toy represents the extent of the crew's physical investment in the car, as opposed to the owner's investment, and investment of labour by both parties.
