Default where to T for boost gauge

hey guys, i hooked up my boost gauge and cant get it to show any boost. My car IS boosting I can feel it no doubt, but the gauge just isnt showing anything at all. Right now I have the line T-d to a vacuum hose on the rear of the intake manifold (d16y8). The nipple is on the drivers side near the bottom on the back of the intake plenum if that makes any difference. What could the problem be?

could be a defective gauge, drilling and tapping its own hole would help also, or also make sure that the hose is still connected because unless its really on there tight they love to blow off.

did you put nylon tape around the fittings of the boost gauge? If not that could be one problem, the other could be a pinch line somehwere.

I checked the line, went through and teflon tape all parts of it. I ran the car with the line unhooked from the back of the gauge and can feel suction through the line. This leads me to believe the gauge itself is bad.

dont tap the FPR line. It can cause a weaker than normal vacuum going to the FPR, and that in turn will cause the car to run rich at idle.

do you have the vacuum line connected with the grommet to hold it in place behind the gauge?

What grommit is this you speak of? I have a nylon line that goes through the part that threads onto the nipple on the back of the gauge. On the line is this little cone shaped deal that the line runs through. I believe that little guy seals the line between the 2 threaded parts (on on the line, and the nipple on the back of the gauge). I have these connections on both ends of the boost line.

but once the system is closed, i dont see how it'll be affected.

Do the VAC and BOOST test on the gauge. Disconnect the vacuum hose and suck and blow on it to see if the needle fluctuates.
