Hosing on Boost gauge?

just wondering, whats wrong wit theh plastic hosing for the autometer boost gauge? what's this 6 mm silicone hose that everyone stalking about?

because its a hard line and it has to take a
few funny bends......
that plastic **** kinks and the line breaks..

silicone hose is flexible and prone to cracking..
