Racing Medalion vs. N1
Okay, before i had my heart set on an Apex-i N1 exhaust for my 94 teg RS. But now I am hearing great things about the new Tanabe Super Racing Medalion. I dont know which one to go with???? I know that the N1 will be louder, and i also hear that there are ground clearance issues with it. But as for quality, which company makes the best?? Anything and everything that you have ever heard about either is welcome. Thanks.

Both are super dope exhausts. I don't know about the super madalion but I have the racing medalion, and many of my friends have this exhaust and I love mine as do they. My other friend has a turbo accord with the N1 in gunmetal and it looks sweet. I personally like the Tanabe, but the N1 is also really nice
I have the skunk2/RSR cat back and I recommend it. It is a straight thru design with 2.35" SS tubing, 3/4" polished SS flanges and the whole thing is mirror polished. It is really loud but comes with a baffle that quites it down to a more acceptable level. The sound is very deep, top end response is better. Eye candy.

I used to have a 00 Civic Si and my first exhaust was the Tanabe Racing Medallion. It was very loud and buzzy and looked like a thermos. I had more ground clearance problems with that thing. My next exhaust was the APEXi N1 and I loved it. It hangs low but I never had a problem with it. The sound was perfect and loud. Not buzzy at all. I would definitely pick the N1 over the Tanabe any day. Good luck!
both will give similar gains, but the tanabe is much lighter
it uses thiner steel but still a 60mm diameter like the N1
the n1 uses the straightest possible flow or soo they claim....it hangs
angled up and to the right...
tanabe is hung normal
both are loud without the silencer, but are toned down alot with em....
your choice....i like the N1 though

I've got the TanabeRM. At first it was REALLY loud, but it quieted down (with no baffle) after about a week. It's very bearable now, and the quality is excellent.
As for with the baffle, I can hear the AEM CAI over the exhaust usually when the baffle is in!
Haven't used an N1 personally, but having researched it several weeks I chose the TRM. The TRM does have slight restriction in the B-Pipe, but this works well right now while I get ready for a turbo (gives a little back pressure). When the turbo is installed, the B-Pipe will get modified to be straight through. I think the SRM fixes this.

TANABE IS TRASH....
I HAD THE G POWER WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND IT WAS DOPE..
UNTILL I BLEW THE GUST OUT OF IT LIKE IT WAS A GREDDY SP EXHAUST..
I PUT UP WITH IT UNTILL ONE DAY MY PIPIN SPLIT RIGHT AFTER THE B PIPE STARTS.IT RUSTED RIGHT THRU.I BOUGHT THE N1 FULL BOLT UP
AND YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE PIPING
IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND 400 ON A FULL BOLT UP.MIGHT AS WELL BE ONE THAT WILL LAST A FEW YEARS

That dyno is not comparing a stock car to a stock car with an N1. I would think a B18C would have some trouble exhaling through the stock Civic hatch pee shooter exhaust.
Also, the new Super Medallion exhausts are fully stainless steel. They have been out in Japan for a while, but I guess Mackin Industries finally decided to start importing them here. I am looking for a RSM for my Sol, but I haven't found a place that sells them yet. Probably too new.
