tanabe racing medalion vs. Apex'i N1?
I'm getting a DRAG III turbo kit and a B16 engine!!!! Anyway, I need an exhaust as well and the ones that caught my eye were the Tanabe racing medalion and the Apex'i N1. I know both get good performace and are both rather loud. What do you think the best for a turbo application is?

if i'm not mistaken, i believe Thermal makes a 2.5inch exhaust for hatchbacks.
perfect size for turbo(if not to extreme with boost),kinda looks like the apex a little, though, the tanabe will be alot louder.

Tanabes are a great quality. The N1 i beleive sits real low to the ground(runs under the lower control arm). Really up to you, both are kind of on the loud side.

Both are good systems. The Thermal exhaust is 2.25" piping. The Thermal turbo exhaust uses 3" diameter piping. If your gonna boost, get the 3" Thermal exhaust.

They both are gonna give about the same gains. It's all
personal preferance.

I have the TRM on my 98 Civic, and that thing screams! My friend's got the N1 on his Si, and it actually sounds a little tinny imo. The TRM has a nice throaty growl at low RPM, too... Just my 2 cents...

I have had both the Tanabe Racing Medalion and The APex'i N1 on my 98 INtegra GSR. I didn't like the TRM because it was really loud and with the silencer in, it was still fairly loud and obnoxious. The N1 is loud and raspy. It is a little on the tinny side while the TRM is a full-bodied exhaust.
The Tanabes are going to be renamed Super Medalion Racing Spec. They will be a full stainless steel exhaust and the price will only go up 10-15 dollars from the Racing Medalion.
If you are going to be getting a turbo, get custom piping and get the APEX'i N1 Turbo muffler. It has a bigger inlet.
FYI, getting a turbo also changes the tone of the exhaust too.
Good luck in your decision.

go with what you think is best for your car. its YOUR car but all we can do is give you our opinions and advice. both are nice. so its a hard decision. good luck on your pick.
but yeah if your gonna run high boost just get the thermal because its better for the car.
