what does the crank angle fluxuation sensor do and does it really matter if i have it or not
What harness will you be using, OBD I or II, well no matter I will cover both scenerios:
Ok as I said OBD I cars had the crank angle sensor in the dist, and is part of the wiring in the Dist plugs
OBDII Motors have it in the crank, there is a little sensor that bolts to the Drivers sid of the crank behind the crank pulley and that is where the plug is so:
OBD I Harness: The computer will just read Crank Angle from the Dist because the harness will not have the plug that will match up at the crank since this was not part of the OBD I harness or motor
OBD II Harness: The computer will read Crank Angle from the Crank because this harness will have the proper plug to match the one at the crank and will not worry about the Crank Angle Sensor in the Dist, it won't even know it's there since this is not part of the OBD II wiring.

using obd1 harness. thanks for the info. now, just for kicks, what if i was using a 96 distributor? dont the harness plugs on 96-98 tegs plug straight up to 94-95?
I thought that the OBD-II CKF was there to sense minute changes in the crank speed to sense misfires. I've been told that it has nothing to do with crankposition since it simply uses a hall effect sensor.
