Default Problem starting when hot

Ok I am going crazy, for the past oh two years or more I have had the same problem and nobody to this day can figure it out. When my car gets hot either from driving or just sitting in hot weather it gets vary hard to start. It tries to turn over but only after a couple mins and me giving it a little gas it starts. I never once had this problem when the car has been sitting inside.

This only started when I modded my car and I tried almost everything to fix it. I took off the MSD changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter. I just don't get it, the only other thing I can think of is getting a new radiator but i don't want to waste the money if it wont help this problem.

Any advice is welcome please! Thanks

PS Now that I live in Texas I REALLY need to get this fixed due to the hot *** weather.

Dude it's sooo your main relay.

Car won't start when it gets hot inside but if you let it sit for a couple minutes it'll start right up right?

Yep, like $50 for a new one and simple switch, it's up under your dash.

It's just a fuse up under your dash, go pick one up from your local Honda dealership take the old one out and plug the new one in.

It's a pretty common Honda problem, no biggie at all, 5 min fix

You can have honda look up the acura part and cross check it to see if there is a same honda part available by part number.

OR, just call

Sounds like some sort of connection problem (obviously) with maybe the ignition or starter or something. I had aftermarket power windows in my previous car and after sitting in the sun and getting hot, the passenger one wouldn't want to work, I'd have to smash the button down. Same with alarm key pad switch inside my car, if it's hot one of the buttons didn't work until the inside cooled down. Somebody told me that when it gets hot, the heat expands the connection so they don't make contact like they should, or very little contact. Sounds like that might be the problem for you also, but what connection isn't being made is beyond me.

black smoke means its getting fuel.. so presumably you have a spark issue?
got any friends? try swaping ECU's? you have already done the other ****.

My first thought was the cat.. but since it happens even if you haven't driven it in a while.
??

Enjoy that Tejas heat

I would check your fuel pressure might be too high or your regulator is bad ,your map sensor might be reading the wrong readings and check your timing....hard to say but if your in the South Houston > Pasadena Area come by the shop and I can check it out for you.....

im pretty sure i know what it is....... try this...... on the firewall right in the center above the prop. valve is a little black box with a couple hoses that go to it........ un-plug the plug that is on the front of that...... if you need a pic i can show you what it is on my car...... i had these same issues on my old 97 ex civic when i converted to obdI..... found out it was that and i unplugged it and never had the problem again im converted to obdI now on my R unplugged it from day one and have never had a problem........ it has something to do with the emissions and causes that to happen

try that and lemme know if thats the problem

Is your timing advanced? If so, perhaps you are running to much advance.

yep.. i had this problem and it went away as soon as i unplugged that piece.. basically, with your setup, fuel vapors go into IM from gas tank and messing up the idle. this will make sure that the valve will stay shut during startup.

it has nothing to do with relays or failure of any unrelated parts
